Sinus Surgery Doesn't Have to be Invasive

Lasting Relief Without Surgery Blog

Balloon Sinuplasty Tampa

Balloon Sinuplasty™ Is a minimally invasive option for sinusitis treatment that can be performed in our office with the use of local anesthesia. During the procedure, small balloons, similar to those used to open blocked arteries, are positioned and then inflated in the sinus pathways. The balloons are then deflated and removed, leaving the sinus passages open. Relief is quick and recovery time after balloon sinus surgery is only 1 to 2 days.

What Is The Recovery Time For Balloon Sinuplasty?

Dr Randall Latorre - Sunday, May 05, 2013

Balloon Sinuplasty offers a minimally invasive way to have sinus infections managed. There are some patients whose disease permits sinusitis surgery in the office under local anesthesia. For others it requires a general anesthetic in an outpatient surgery center. Most patients are able to return to activities very quickly. Many can resume normal activities immediately. Your doctor may recommend you refrain from very strenuous activities (such as heavy lifting) for a week after the treatment. All of this is dependent upon what is causing the sinus problem, how much surgery is needed and if any other nasal procedures must be performed at the same time (removal of nasal polyps or correcting a deviated nasal septum). You should discuss all of this with your doctor.
